Visiting hours at the North Bay Regional Health Centre are:
11:00 am - 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Restrictions / Exceptions:
ONLY two (2) visitors per patient at any given time unless otherwise noted.

Maternal Care Patients
Visiting hours for Maternal Care Patients is:
4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Restrictions / Exceptions:
NICU (visitors restricted)
Parents / guardians of the baby at any time. Grandparents and siblings at pre-arranged times.
Birthing Area (labour, birth, recovers, & postpartum)
During assessment and labour - three labour support persons.
Labour and Delivery (visitors restricted)
Three labour support persons.
Maternal Newborn Clinic
One person may accompany Mom and Baby.
Antenatal Clinic, Social Work Appointments
One person may attend with patient.

Visitors to the Emergency Department
- Individual cases will be addressed depending on current circumstances and at the discretion of the staff working at this time.
- The Emergency Department can be quite chaotic and crowded. As a result, we request that only one escort visit the patient while they are in the Emergency Department for a maximum of five minutes.
- Exceptions include parents of small children, escorts for the elderly, or non-ambulatory or those who require language assistance. With these exceptions, one person will be allowed to accompany the patient in the ER. All others will be asked to wait in the waiting room for further information.

Additional Information
- These visiting guidelines are intended to reduce traffic flow in the hospital thus reducing risk of infectious disease exposure to our patients, visitors and staff.
- Visitors are not to wait in the hall to visit at the bedside. People other than those visiting at the bedside may not wait on the Unit.
- Exceptions to these guidelines will be made on compassionate grounds (i.e. palliative care with death imminent, critically ill child/infant and exceptional circumstances) in consultation with the Program Manager or his/her delegate.

- Don't go through a closed door or curtain
- Register children under 12 with the Charge Unit Nurse
- Excuse yourself if your patient is receiving care
- Stay at the bedside during your visit
- Two visitors at a time
