Stroke/TIA patients across Nipissing and Temiskaming Districts are served. These patients include those admitted to hospital and living in the community.
Overview
The North Bay District Stroke Centre provides local leadership and collaborates with district and regional partners to achieve coordination and integration of stroke care across all points in the spectrum of stroke care including primary and secondary prevention, acute care, rehabilitation, long term care and home care. The objective is to ensure that all stroke survivors receive optimal, seamless, patient-centered care guided by best practices for stroke care.

What is available in the Community for me?
Living with Stroke is a group learning program conducted weekly for eight weeks. This program is designed for stroke survivors and their families/caregivers. This program helps stroke survivors/families cope with the changes that have occurred after a stroke. Is there a support group that I can attend?
The North Bay Stroke Support Group is a peer support group based on the belief that people who have faced, endured, and overcome adversity can offer useful support to each other. This initiative was facilitated through a partnership with the North Bay and District Stroke Centre. The meetings take place the first Wednesday of each month between 11 am and 12:30 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23, 150 First Avenue West in North Bay, ON.
