Services Overview
The Regional Aboriginal Mental Health Services (RAMHS) began developing in November 2006 to provide culturally appropriate supports to Aboriginal patients as they return home.
Internally, we are involved in developing and facilitating education opportunities for staff and regarding Aboriginal cultures and worldviews. We are also engaged in developing and facilitating education for NBRHC staff, and in supporting student placements from the local colleges and universities.
We will participate in case management / discharge planning to Aboriginal patients referred to our program within the North Bay Regional Health Centre as they are preparing to discharge from the hospital, with ongoing follow-up in their communities.
