Service Overview
The Regional Early Intervention in Psychosis (REIP) Service is a component of the North Bay Regional Health Centre - Regional Outreach. The vision of the REIP service is to establish a system of support that will allow people experiencing a first episode of psychosis to proceed with their life goals and maximize opportunities for personal development.
The REIP Service provides regional outreach services to coordinate, support and enhance district based early intervention in psychosis programs throughout Northeastern Ontario. The Service strives to integrate two systems regional and district, and to identify existing gaps in services for individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis. Through partnerships and service agreements, the Service is able to ensure the effectiveness and appropriateness of Early Intervention services throughout the Northeast region. REIP Service's planning components focus on activities that will increase early identification of psychosis, access to equitable services and standardization across the Northeast region to ensure access to specialized services utilizing current research and evidence-based best practices. The model adopted by the Regional Service provides district partners and families with resources and supports to assist individuals experiencing psychosis to decrease the severity of their illness and improve the capacity for optimal recovery.
Services Offered
The primary function of the REIP Service is to support and provide resources for the development of specialized early intervention in psychosis district programs. The Regional Service is responsible for the dissemination of evidence-based best practice guidelines, protocols, resources, common procedural guidelines, specialized training and information to district early intervention in psychosis programs. Additionally, the Service supports a network for peer consultation, communication and resource sharing for clinicians across the northeast region. REIP Service does not provide direct service to individuals experiencing psychosis, however individual care is improved through ongoing clinical supervision and consultation with district based clinicians throughout the region.
